1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device, maintain state, and collect usage information.

In addition to traditional cookies, we and our third-party providers also use browser local storage to store non-sensitive preferences such as language selection, sidebar state, and theme. Local storage data is never transmitted to servers automatically and is not a cookie, but we mention it here for full transparency.

2. Cookies we use and why

Welon's own application does not set traditional HTTP cookies for session management. Authentication and session data are stored in your browser's local storage via our authentication provider, Supabase.

The cookies placed when you use Welon come primarily from Google Tag Manager, which is embedded in our website to help us understand how visitors use the product.

3. Cookie categories

4. Third-party services

The following third-party services operate on or within the Welon platform:

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4

We use Google Tag Manager (container ID: GTM-P4HZW67N) to deploy Google Analytics 4, which measures aggregate website usage including page views, session duration, and feature interactions. GA4 sets the _ga, ga*, and _gid cookies. Data is processed by Google in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn

When you consent to marketing cookies, we load Google Ads, the Meta Pixel and the LinkedIn Insight Tag through Google Tag Manager, so we can measure how our advertising performs and show relevant ads. These set the _gcl_au, _fbp, li_sugr and bcookie. They are not loaded at all unless you consent.

Sentry

We use Sentry for error monitoring and performance tracking. Sentry captures session context and stack traces when errors occur to help us diagnose and fix bugs. If you consent to analytics cookies, Sentry also records session replays with all text and images hidden. It does not set persistent browser cookies but may use session identifiers stored in memory or session storage.

Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication and data storage. Your session token is stored in your browser's local storage (not as an HTTP cookie) and is used solely to maintain your login state across page visits.

5. Managing and disabling cookies

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from your Cookie settings, also available from the link in the footer of every page.

You can also control analytics cookies through your browser settings or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Most browsers allow you to:

• View and delete cookies stored on your device
• Block cookies from specific websites or all third parties
• Receive a notification before a cookie is set

Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the Welon platform. If you clear local storage, you will be signed out of your account.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our technology stack or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
